Join world-renowned calligrapher Illyhana Johnson for a two-hour workshop on modern dip pen calligraphy. After a delicious Pompette breakfast, Illy will familiarise you with new calligraphy tools – yours to keep! – before teaching you the basics of her craft.

This will be a perfect introduction for those wanting to master the fundamental techniques of dip pen calligraphy, from complete beginners who want to learn a new skill to those who have previously dabbled with the skill and want to refresh their techniques.

You will create beautiful letters of love and essential stationery items used to gift to your loved ones and friends for Valentines. It's hands on and practical, with lots of one-to-one support offered throughout and I aim to give you lots of essential tips to take your creative lettering to new heights.

The 2 hour workshop will include:

• An introduction on how to use your calligraphy tools

• Warm up exercises and practice strokes

• Forming individual letters

• Creating words and phrases

• Developing your own alphabet in your own style

• A dip pen holder

• Zebra G calligraphy nib 

• Black calligraphy ink

• Calligraphy guide cards 

• A dotty Rhodia practice pad

• A selection stationery items to use with your final project  

N.B. Be aware that the calligraphy ink can stain so please wear appropriate clothing to the workshop.
