POMPETTE (the charming French word for tipsy) is an independent restaurant and wine bar in Summertown, Oxford, from husband and wife duo Pascal and Laura Wiedemann.

At our restaurant, we believe great food starts with great ingredients. That’s why we use only the highest quality, seasonal produce and make everything from scratch — from stocks and sauces to desserts as well as our amazing baguettes. We may be a little more expensive, but every dish reflects the care, time, and craftsmanship that go into creating truly exceptional food.

This January and February, we are taking part in The Good Food Guide’s first ever Restaurant Month.

Running from 13th January to 13th February 2026, this nationwide celebration of dining out brings together more than 350 offers at some of Britain’s best restaurants, offering a great value option for dining!

We are offering our Prix Fixe menu of 3 courses for £28 from Tuesday - Friday throughout lunch & dinner.

Please quote 'Good Food Guide Restaurant Month' on booking and arrival to confirm validity.

PRIVATE DINING

OUR PRIVATE DINING ROOM is decorated in a Vintage Elegant style, situated upstairs in the restaurant, perfect for family gatherings, celebrations or a meal with friends. The room is exclusively yours for the afternoon or evening and you will have a dedicated member of our team looking after you.

The room seats parties from 8 to 12 people comfortably, 14 if you are willing to squeeze!

Situated upstairs and separate from our main restaurant, we serve a separate Private Dining Menu which requires a pre-order and a table plan. We can cater to any dietary requirements or intolerances for individual guests and adjust accordingly.

MENUS

PASCAL has worked in London restaurants for 14 years, beginning his career with Henry Harris at Racine, then opening Terroirs with Ed Wilson where he became Executive Chef, before finally opening Six Portland Road.

Whilst being classically trained in French cookery, and from French roots, his culinary take at Pompette will take inspiration from across Europe and be one of simplicity, comfort and care.

French seaside classic - Moules à la crème & pommes frites served with a 125ml Picpoul de Pinet.

 WEDNESDAYS – POULET

Plump,  juicy half roast chicken, tarragon jus, frites, mayonnaise, salad and a carafe of House wine  

£48 for two, to share.

 THURSDAYS –STEAK

A mighty onglet steak, dressed in a meaty jus de viande, served with watercress, frites and a glass of House wine.

We will be serving our wonderful A La Carte as well as our new Sunday weekly roast.
